Drug intelligence / Profile preview
IO102 + pembrolizumab is an investigational combination therapy for cancer. IO102 is a peptide-based therapeutic cancer vaccine designed to activate the patient’s immune system by targeting indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase (IDO), an immunosuppressive enzyme often overexpressed in tumors. Pembrolizumab is a monoclonal antibody that targets programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1), acting as an immune checkpoint inhibitor to enhance T-cell mediated anti-tumor responses. The combination aims to synergistically boost anti-tumor immunity by both activating tumor-specific T-cells and blocking inhibitory signals that suppress immune responses. This regimen is being developed primarily for advanced melanoma and other solid tumors such as non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck (SCCHN)[2][4][5][6].
