Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This combination therapy regimen consists of QL1706 (a co-formulation of the PD-1 inhibitor iparomlimab and the CTLA-4 inhibitor tuvonralimab) administered in conjunction with a tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI), either lenvatinib or axitinib. QL1706, developed by Qilu Pharmaceutical using its Mab-Pair technology, provides dual immune checkpoint blockade to enhance T-cell anti-tumor activity. Lenvatinib (Eisai) and axitinib (Pfizer) are small-molecule inhibitors that target vascular endothelial growth factor receptors (VEGFR) to inhibit tumor angiogenesis and potentially modulate the tumor microenvironment. This specific regimen is being evaluated in a Phase II clinical trial (NCT06144125) sponsored by the Tianjin Medical University Cancer Institute and Hospital for patients with locally advanced or metastatic clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) who have progressed after first-line systemic therapy.
