This combination therapy is a multi-modality regimen being investigated for the first-line treatment of advanced mesothelioma. It consists of two immune checkpoint inhibitors developed by Qilu Pharmaceutical: iparomlimab (an anti-PD-1 monoclonal antibody) and tuvoraleimab (an anti-CTLA-4 monoclonal antibody), which are co-formulated as the bifunctional MabPair product QL1706. These immunotherapies are combined with bevacizumab, an anti-angiogenic monoclonal antibody targeting VEGF, and a standard chemotherapy doublet of pemetrexed and cisplatin (or carboplatin). The regimen aims to leverage synergistic effects by simultaneously enhancing T-cell activation, inhibiting tumor angiogenesis, and inducing cytotoxic cell death. A Phase II trial sponsored by Fudan University is currently evaluating the efficacy and safety of this five-drug combination in patients with advanced mesothelioma.
