Overview

Ipilimumab + dacarbazine is a combination therapy used for the treatment of advanced or metastatic melanoma. **Ipilimumab** is a monoclonal antibody that blocks cytotoxic T-lymphocyte-associated antigen 4 (CTLA-4), enhancing T-cell-mediated immune responses against tumor cells. **Dacarbazine** is an alkylating agent that damages DNA, leading to cancer cell death. The combination has been shown to improve overall survival compared to dacarbazine alone, with a durable survival benefit observed in long-term studies. The primary indication is previously untreated unresectable or metastatic melanoma, with use investigated in both Western and Japanese patient populations[1][2][4][5][6].
