Overview

Ipilimumab + docetaxel is a combination therapy used in oncology, particularly studied for advanced prostate cancer and other solid tumors. Ipilimumab is a fully human monoclonal antibody that targets cytotoxic T-lymphocyte antigen 4 (CTLA-4), thereby enhancing antitumor immune responses by blocking inhibitory signaling on T cells. Docetaxel is a taxoid antineoplastic agent that binds to the β-subunit of tubulin, stabilizing microtubules and preventing their depolymerization, which disrupts cell division and leads to cancer cell death. This combination has been evaluated in clinical trials for hormone-refractory prostate cancer and other malignancies[1][2][5][6].
