Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This drug is a combination of **ipilimumab**, a fully humanized IgG1 monoclonal antibody targeting CTLA-4 (cytotoxic T-lymphocyte antigen-4), plus a multipeptide vaccine consisting of **gp100**, **MART-1**, and **tyrosinase** peptides. Ipilimumab acts as an **immune checkpoint inhibitor** by blocking CTLA-4, thereby enhancing T-cell activation and antitumor immune responses. The peptide vaccines (gp100, MART-1, tyrosinase) target common melanoma-associated antigens and are designed to promote tumor antigen-specific cytotoxic T-cell responses. The combination has been investigated primarily in metastatic melanoma, aiming to synergistically enhance antitumor immunity.
