Saliprair L is a fixed-dose combination inhalation therapy developed by Midas Care, primarily indicated for the management of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and asthma. It combines levosalbutamol (also known as levalbuterol), a short-acting beta-2 adrenergic receptor agonist (SABA), with ipratropium bromide, a short-acting muscarinic antagonist (SAMA). Levosalbutamol, the active (R)-enantiomer of salbutamol, promotes bronchodilation by relaxing airway smooth muscle through the activation of adenylate cyclase and subsequent increase in intracellular cAMP. Ipratropium bromide provides complementary bronchodilation by competitively inhibiting acetylcholine at muscarinic receptors in the bronchial smooth muscle, thereby reducing vagal-mediated bronchoconstriction. This combination is typically administered via a metered-dose inhaler (MDI) to provide rapid relief of bronchospasm and improve airflow in patients with obstructive airway diseases.
