Overview

A cell therapy consisting of autologous induced pluripotent stem cell-derived retinal pigment epithelium (iPSC-RPE) cells grown on a biodegradable poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) scaffold. This therapy is designed to replace damaged retinal pigment epithelium in patients with retinal degenerative diseases, particularly age-related macular degeneration (AMD) with geographic atrophy. The PLGA scaffold provides structural support for the iPSC-RPE cells while being biodegradable, gradually dissolving in the body after transplantation, leaving no foreign material in the eye.
