Overview

IRE + mitazalimab refers to the combination of irreversible electroporation (IRE), a non-thermal ablation technique used to destroy tumor cells, with mitazalimab, a CD40 agonist monoclonal antibody. Mitazalimab is designed to activate dendritic cells and other antigen-presenting cells via CD40 stimulation, thereby enhancing T cell-mediated anti-tumor immunity. The rationale for combining IRE with mitazalimab is that IRE can induce immunogenic cell death and release tumor antigens, while mitazalimab boosts the immune system’s ability to recognize and attack cancer cells. This combination is currently being evaluated in clinical trials for locally advanced pancreatic cancer[7]. Alligator Bioscience is developing mitazalimab.
