Overview
A combination treatment regimen consisting of irinotecan plus cisplatin (IP) chemotherapy followed by octreotide long-acting release (LAR) as maintenance therapy. This sequential approach has been studied in phase II clinical trials for advanced gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine carcinoma (GEP-NEC). The regimen involves administering irinotecan (180mg/m²) and cisplatin (50mg/m²) on day 1, repeated every 2 weeks for up to six cycles, followed by octreotide LAR maintenance in patients without disease progression after chemotherapy.
