Irinotecan + lobaplatin is a combination chemotherapy regimen consisting of two small molecule antineoplastic agents. Irinotecan is a topoisomerase I inhibitor that interferes with DNA replication in cancer cells, leading to cell death. Lobaplatin is a third-generation platinum-based chemotherapeutic agent that forms DNA crosslinks, inhibiting DNA synthesis and function, ultimately resulting in apoptosis of tumor cells. This combination has been studied primarily for the treatment of recurrent small cell lung cancer and has demonstrated efficacy with an acceptable safety profile. The main toxicities are hematological (such as leukopenia, neutropenia, thrombocytopenia) and gastrointestinal (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea). No toxicity-related deaths have been reported in clinical studies[2][4].
