This is a combination therapy consisting of irinotecan liposome and bevacizumab. Irinotecan liposome is a nanoliposomal formulation of the topoisomerase I inhibitor irinotecan, designed to enhance drug delivery and bioavailability while reducing toxicity compared to conventional irinotecan. Bevacizumab is a recombinant humanized monoclonal antibody that inhibits vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A), thereby blocking angiogenesis in tumors. The combination aims to leverage the cytotoxic effects of DNA damage from irinotecan with the anti-angiogenic properties of bevacizumab for synergistic antitumor activity. This regimen has been investigated primarily in clinical trials for recurrent, platinum-resistant ovarian cancer, fallopian tube cancer, primary peritoneal cancer[2][4], and advanced pancreatic cancer after failure of first-line therapy[3]. Both agents are administered intravenously.
