Irinotecan liposome + lobaplatin is an investigational combination chemotherapy regimen primarily being evaluated for the treatment of small cell lung cancer (SCLC), including cases that have progressed after first-line therapy. Irinotecan liposome (Onivyde) is a nanoparticle-encapsulated formulation of irinotecan, which is converted to its active metabolite SN-38 to inhibit DNA topoisomerase I, leading to lethal DNA damage. Lobaplatin is a third-generation platinum derivative that induces DNA inter-strand and intra-strand cross-links, effectively inhibiting DNA synthesis and transcription. This combination is designed to enhance therapeutic efficacy and overcome drug resistance in SCLC through complementary mechanisms of DNA damage.
