Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Iron + vitamin A is a combination of two essential micronutrients commonly used in dietary supplements and multivitamin formulations. Iron is a mineral critical for the production of hemoglobin and red blood cells, playing an essential role in oxygen transport throughout the body. Vitamin A (commonly as retinyl acetate or retinol) is vital for vision, immune function, cellular growth, and reproduction. The combination may be used to address or prevent deficiencies that can occur due to poor diet, increased physiological needs (such as pregnancy), chronic illness, or recovery from surgery. Iron supplementation treats or prevents iron deficiency anemia by replenishing body stores; vitamin A supports immune health and vision. These nutrients are often included together in multivitamin products targeted at populations with increased risk of deficiency.
