Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ISA101 + pegylated interferon alpha + carboplatin + paclitaxel is a combination therapy consisting of a therapeutic human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine (ISA101), an immune-modulatory cytokine (pegylated interferon alpha), and two cytotoxic chemotherapeutic agents (carboplatin and paclitaxel). - **ISA101** is a synthetic long peptide vaccine targeting HPV-16 E6 and E7 oncoproteins, developed to stimulate cytotoxic T-cell responses and induce anti-tumor immunity, specifically for HPV-associated malignancies. - **Pegylated interferon alpha** is a pegylated formulation of interferon alpha, a cytokine with immunomodulatory, antiviral, and antiproliferative properties; its pegylation increases serum half-life and reduces dosing frequency. - **Carboplatin** is a platinum-based chemotherapeutic agent that induces DNA crosslinking and apoptosis in cancer cells. - **Paclitaxel** is a taxane chemotherapeutic agent that stabilizes microtubules and blocks cell division, resulting in apoptosis. This combination approach aims to synergize immune activation against HPV-driven tumors with the direct cytotoxicity of standard chemotherapies. Clinical development is primarily in HPV-associated cancers such as cervical cancer and head and neck cancer.
