Overview

Isatuximab + chemotherapy refers to the combination of the monoclonal antibody **isatuximab** with a chemotherapeutic regimen, most commonly pomalidomide, dexamethasone, carfilzomib, bortezomib, and/or lenalidomide, for the treatment of multiple myeloma. Isatuximab is an anti-CD38 IgG1 monoclonal antibody. It induces apoptosis of malignant plasma cells through direct cytotoxicity and immune-mediated mechanisms, including antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity, phagocytosis, complement activation, and inhibition of CD38 enzymatic activity. Addition of isatuximab to chemotherapy regimens shows improved progression-free survival and deeper clinical responses in relapsed/refractory and newly diagnosed multiple myeloma[1][3][5][7].
