Overview

This combination involves **iscib1** (a novel DNA plasmid vaccine targeting melanoma antigens), **nivolumab** (an anti–PD-1 monoclonal antibody), and **ipilimumab** (an anti–CTLA-4 monoclonal antibody). iscib1 is an experimental DNA vaccine designed to stimulate cytotoxic T lymphocytes to attack melanoma cells. Nivolumab and ipilimumab are immune checkpoint inhibitors that modulate T-cell activation by blocking PD-1 and CTLA-4, respectively, increasing antitumor immune responses. The combination is under investigation as a first-line or advanced therapy for melanoma, and early studies have reported improved objective response rates without increased clinically relevant toxicity compared to standard regimens[3][1].
