Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This combination therapy involves the use of isobutyl cyanoacrylate, a high-viscosity tissue adhesive, applied over a gelatin sponge to facilitate the healing of surgical wounds, specifically palatal donor sites following connective tissue graft harvesting. Isobutyl cyanoacrylate acts as a topical adhesive that polymerizes upon contact with moisture, creating a physical barrier and providing hemostasis. The gelatin sponge serves as a scaffold and hemostatic agent. This specific combination is being evaluated by Hacettepe University to improve patient-reported outcomes such as pain perception and to enhance epithelization and color match at the donor site.
