isoetharine + phenylephrine

**Isoetharine + phenylephrine** is a historical fixed-dose inhaled bronchodilator combination marketed as **Bronkosol**. Isoetharine is a relatively selective short-acting beta-2 adrenergic receptor agonist that relaxes bronchial smooth muscle, while phenylephrine is an alpha-1 adrenergic receptor agonist. In controlled studies in asthma and reversible bronchospasm, the combination produced bronchodilation, although phenylephrine alone did not produce bronchodilation and its addition to isoetharine showed no clear incremental pulmonary benefit.
