Drug intelligence / Profile preview
BBR-012 is an oral small molecule formulation of the antimicrobial agent isoniazid, developed by Bridge BioResearch Rights (Jersey) Ltd for the treatment of diabetic foot ulcers (DFU). While isoniazid is traditionally used as a first-line treatment for tuberculosis, BBR-012 explores its potential to accelerate wound healing in ischaemic or neuro-ischaemic foot ulcers through the inhibition of cytochrome P450 (CYP) enzymes. The drug was evaluated in a Phase IIa proof-of-concept trial (NCT01342497) in the United Kingdom, where it was administered alongside standard medical care. However, the clinical development for this indication was terminated due to recruitment challenges.
