Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This combination drug contains **isopropyl alcohol**, a small molecule antiseptic and disinfectant, and **allogenic bone-marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (BM-MSCs)**, which are multipotent stromal cells obtained from the bone marrow of unrelated (non-self) human donors. Isopropyl alcohol acts as a topical agent to rapidly kill bacteria and other microbes by denaturing proteins and disrupting cellular membranes. Allogenic BM-MSCs are used for their anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory, and tissue-regenerative capabilities—capable of differentiating into various cell types and modulating immune responses in a range of diseases. In clinical practice, allogenic bone marrow MSCs have been approved for the treatment of steroid-refractory acute graft-versus-host disease (e.g., remestemcel-L, brand name Ryoncil) but are also being investigated or used in regenerative medicine settings, including potential applications in neuroprotection and tissue repair. The combination of isopropyl alcohol with allogenic BM-MSCs does not correspond to any widely approved or marketed product. No evidence was found of a drug, approved product, or well-described clinical trial combining both as a therapeutic; as such, this entry is for a hypothetical or research compound consisting of both[1][2][5][6][7].
