Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Isopropyl alcohol + leuprolide is a pharmaceutical combination kit in which **leuprolide acetate** is the therapeutic active ingredient and **isopropyl alcohol** is supplied as an antiseptic skin-preparation pad for use before injection. Leuprolide is a synthetic GnRH analog peptide that acts as a **gonadotropin-releasing hormone receptor agonist**; with continuous administration it downregulates pituitary GnRH signaling, suppresses LH and FSH secretion, and thereby lowers gonadal sex hormone production, including testosterone and estrogen. This product is used in the setting of leuprolide indications including **advanced prostatic cancer**, **endometriosis**, and **uterine fibroids or uterine leiomyomata**, including preoperative hematologic improvement of anemia associated with fibroids. The combination-kit framing is specific to the packaged product rather than reflecting a dual therapeutic mechanism, because the antiseptic pad is ancillary and the clinical effect is driven by leuprolide.
