Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Isopropylmethylphenol (IPMP) + fluoride is a combination used primarily in oral care products such as toothpastes and mouthwashes. Isopropylmethylphenol (IPMP) acts as an antibacterial agent, inhibiting the growth of a wide range of bacteria including *Streptococcus mutans*, which are implicated in dental plaque and caries formation. Fluoride, commonly present as sodium fluoride or other salts, strengthens tooth enamel by promoting remineralization and making teeth more resistant to acid produced by bacteria. The combination aims to both reduce bacterial load and enhance enamel resistance to decay for improved oral health[1][2][5].
