Overview

itMSCs + itNSCs is a combination cell therapy being developed by Stemedica Cell Technologies. It consists of two allogeneic stem cell products: ischemia-tolerant mesenchymal stem cells (itMSCs) and ischemia-tolerant neural stem cells (itNSCs). These cells are manufactured under proprietary low-oxygen (hypoxic) conditions, which enhances their survival and secretion of growth factors in the ischemic environments typical of stroke and other neurological injuries. The therapy utilizes a dual administration approach: itMSCs are delivered intravenously to promote vascularization and immunomodulation, while itNSCs are delivered intrathecally to migrate to damaged areas, replace lost neurons, and restore neural connectivity. The combination is primarily targeted at chronic ischemic stroke and Alzheimer's disease.
