Overview

Ivabradine + salbutamol is a combination of two medications with different mechanisms of action. Ivabradine is a heart rate-lowering agent that acts specifically on the sinoatrial node via the If pacemaker channels, while salbutamol (also known as albuterol) is a beta-2 adrenergic receptor agonist used as a bronchodilator. When used together, ivabradine can prevent the heart rate acceleration typically caused by salbutamol without affecting its bronchodilator properties. This combination may be beneficial for patients with comorbid conditions like chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and coronary heart disease (CHD), where controlling heart rate while maintaining bronchodilation is important.
