Ivonescimab (AK112) is a first-in-class bispecific antibody that simultaneously targets programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF). This dual-action biologic is designed to enhance anti-tumor immune responses while inhibiting tumor angiogenesis. In the context of the Tianjin Medical University study, it is combined with Hepatic Arterial Infusion Chemotherapy (HAIC) using the FOLFOX regimen (oxaliplatin, 5-fluorouracil, and leucovorin). This combination therapy is being evaluated for the treatment of unresectable BCLC stage B or C hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), aiming to provide superior efficacy by delivering high concentrations of chemotherapy directly to the liver alongside systemic immunotherapy and anti-angiogenic support.
