Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Ivosidenib is a small molecule inhibitor of mutant isocitrate dehydrogenase 1 (IDH1), developed to target cancers with IDH1 mutations. By inhibiting the mutant IDH1 enzyme, it reduces levels of the oncometabolite D-2-hydroxyglutarate, restoring normal cell differentiation and slowing tumor growth. Nivolumab is a monoclonal antibody that targets programmed death receptor 1 (PD-1), acting as an immune checkpoint inhibitor to enhance T-cell mediated anti-tumor responses. The combination of these two drugs is being investigated for synergistic effects in treating IDH1-mutant glioma and other solid tumors, leveraging both targeted therapy and immunotherapy mechanisms[1][3][4][5][6].
