Overview

Ivospemin + nab-paclitaxel + gemcitabine is a triple drug combination being evaluated as a treatment for metastatic pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma. Ivospemin (code name SBP-101) is a polyamine analogue with a mechanism thought to disrupt tumor cell growth. Nab-paclitaxel is an albumin-bound formulation of paclitaxel that inhibits microtubule disassembly, and gemcitabine is a nucleoside analog that inhibits DNA synthesis by targeting DNA replication. The combination is believed to act synergistically, with ivospemin enhancing the cytotoxic effects of chemotherapy and nab-paclitaxel facilitating increased intratumoral concentration of gemcitabine by stromal depletion[5][7][9].
