Drug intelligence / Profile preview
IVT PCV-25 is a 25-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV) developed by Inventprise Inc. in collaboration with the nonprofit organization PATH and with funding support from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The vaccine utilizes Inventprise's proprietary Hz-PEG-Hz linker conjugation technology platform to link capsular polysaccharides from 25 different serotypes of *Streptococcus pneumoniae* to a carrier protein. This design is intended to provide broader serotype coverage than existing 10- to 20-valent vaccines, specifically targeting serotypes that contribute to a high disease burden in low- and middle-income countries. IVT PCV-25 is designed for the prevention of invasive and non-invasive pneumococcal diseases, including pneumonia, bacteremia, meningitis, sepsis, and otitis media. As of early 2024, the vaccine has completed Phase 2 dose-ranging studies in young adults, with ongoing development programs for both adult and infant populations.
