JD002 is an investigational allogeneic natural killer (NK) cell therapy developed by Xuzhou Medical University for the treatment of relapsed or refractory acute myeloid leukemia (AML). It is specifically being evaluated in patients who have experienced disease recurrence following allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT). The therapy involves the infusion of donor-derived NK cells, which are intended to induce a graft-versus-leukemia (GVL) effect by identifying and destroying residual leukemic blasts through innate immune mechanisms. In clinical trials, JD002 is administered in conjunction with azacitidine, a hypomethylating agent, to potentially sensitize leukemia cells to NK-mediated lysis and improve clinical outcomes.
