Jian'er Qingjie

Jian'er Qingjie is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation primarily used in pediatric care for the treatment of acute upper respiratory tract infections (AURTI). Developed by the China National Pharmaceutical Industry Research Institute, it is typically administered as an oral liquid. The formulation consists of several herbal components, including *Lonicera japonica* (honeysuckle), *Chrysanthemum indicum*, *Forsythia suspensa*, *Crataegus pinnatifida* (hawthorn), *Citrus reticulata* (tangerine peel), and *Glycyrrhiza uralensis* (licorice). It is designed to clear heat, detoxify, and promote digestion. Its mechanism of action involves anti-inflammatory, antiviral, and antibacterial properties attributed to its phytochemical constituents like chlorogenic acid, luteolin, and phillyrin.
