Overview
Jieyu Capsule is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) product developed and manufactured by China Resources Sanjiu Medical & Pharmaceutical. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of mild to moderate depression. The formulation consists of extracts from *Hypericum perforatum* (St. John's Wort) and *Acanthopanax senticosus* (Siberian Ginseng). The therapeutic effect is largely driven by the active constituents of *Hypericum perforatum*, such as hypericin and hyperforin, which act as non-selective reuptake inhibitors of monoamine neurotransmitters, including serotonin, norepinephrine, and dopamine. *Acanthopanax senticosus* is included for its adaptogenic properties, helping to improve physical and mental resilience. In TCM theory, it is used to soothe the liver and resolve stagnation, addressing symptoms associated with liver qi stagnation.
