JKN2501 (Joincare Pharmaceutical)

JKN2501 is an investigational, intravenous, small-molecule broad-spectrum bacterial β-lactamase inhibitor developed by Joincare Pharmaceutical. It is designed for fixed use with meropenem rather than as a standalone antibacterial: JKN2501 inhibits bacterial β-lactamases across Ambler classes A, B, C, and D, including KPC, NDM metallo-β-lactamases, and OXA-type carbapenemases, thereby protecting meropenem from enzymatic hydrolysis and restoring its activity against resistant bacteria. Joincare has reported Phase I development for complicated urinary tract infection including acute pyelonephritis, and regulatory clearance for clinical development with meropenem in hospital-acquired pneumonia and ventilator-associated pneumonia.
