Juvensis Therapeutics is developing an adeno-associated virus (AAV)-based gene therapy designed for precision telomere regulation via the telomerase reverse transcriptase (TERT) pathway for the treatment of liver cirrhosis. Currently in the early discovery phase, the therapy aims to address cellular senescence, a key driver of chronic liver disease and fibrosis. By delivering a functional TERT gene to hepatocytes, the treatment is intended to restore telomere length and cellular regenerative capacity, potentially halting or reversing the progression of cirrhosis.
