Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Ketamine + mometasone furoate is a combination of two pharmaceutical agents. Ketamine is a rapid-acting general anesthetic and analgesic that works primarily as an antagonist of the N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor. It produces dissociative anesthesia and profound analgesia[8]. Mometasone furoate is a potent synthetic corticosteroid with anti-inflammatory properties; it acts mainly by binding to the glucocorticoid receptor to modulate gene expression and suppress inflammatory responses[1][5]. This combination may be used off-label in compounded topical or intranasal formulations for conditions where both local anesthesia/analgesia and anti-inflammatory effects are desired.
