Overview

This is a combination of three intravenous anesthetic agents - ketamine, propofol, and thiopental - each with distinct pharmacological properties. Ketamine is a dissociative anesthetic that provides analgesia and amnesia while preserving muscle tone and airway reflexes. Propofol is a non-barbiturate sedative hypnotic with rapid onset and short recovery time, functioning as an antiemetic, anticonvulsant, and amnestic agent. Thiopental is a barbiturate used for induction of anesthesia, with ultrashort-acting depressant effects on the central nervous system. These agents are sometimes used in various combinations for procedural sedation and anesthesia, with the theoretical advantage of balancing their opposing cardiovascular effects and reducing individual drug doses to minimize adverse effects.
