Overview

Ketoprofen + paracetamol is a fixed-dose combination of two analgesic drugs used for the management of pain, particularly acute postoperative pain. Ketoprofen is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that works by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2), thereby reducing prostaglandin synthesis and providing anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antipyretic effects. Paracetamol (also known as acetaminophen) is an analgesic and antipyretic agent whose precise mechanism is not fully understood but involves inhibition of central prostaglandin synthesis, likely via COX inhibition in the brain. The combination has been shown to provide effective pain relief with a more rapid onset than either drug alone in some settings[1][2][3]. It may also reduce opioid requirements when used postoperatively[5].
