Overview
Ketorolac + hydroxypropyl methylcellulose is a fixed-dose combination ophthalmic preparation used primarily as eye drops. Ketorolac is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that works by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2), thereby reducing the synthesis of prostaglandins responsible for pain and inflammation. Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC, also known as hypromellose) acts as an ocular lubricant, mimicking natural tears to relieve dryness and irritation. This combination is indicated for the treatment of symptoms such as itching, redness, inflammation, and dryness associated with seasonal allergic conjunctivitis or following ocular surgeries like cataract extraction[1][4][5]. The product does not possess sedative or anxiolytic properties.
