Overview

Ketorolac + remifentanil is a combination of two pharmaceutical agents used primarily for perioperative pain management and sedation. Ketorolac is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) with analgesic, antipyretic, and anti-inflammatory properties, indicated for short-term management of moderate to severe pain. Remifentanil is an ultra-short-acting synthetic opioid analgesic that acts as a µ-opioid receptor agonist, providing rapid-onset and potent analgesia with quick offset. When combined, these drugs are used to enhance multimodal analgesia during general anesthesia emergence or postoperative recovery. The combination has been shown to effectively relieve pain and sedation during general anesthesia recovery while reducing the incidence of complications related to anesthesia emergence; it also allows for reduced opioid dosing and may decrease adverse reactions associated with higher doses of opioids alone[1][2][7].
