Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Ketotifen + indomethacin is a drug combination under investigation for the treatment of COVID-19. Ketotifen is an oral mast cell stabilizer used to prevent asthma and reduce vascular leakage, while indomethacin is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that inhibits cyclooxygenase 1 and 2 receptors, reducing prostaglandin synthesis. The combination has shown additive or synergistic antiviral effects against SARS-CoV-2 in vitro, with increased inhibition of viral replication compared to either drug alone[1][2][3]. Clinical trials have evaluated its safety and efficacy for improving respiratory symptoms in COVID-19 patients.
