Overview
This is a **combination therapy** of **KHK2866**, a recombinant, humanized, non-fucosylated monoclonal antibody targeting **heparin-binding epidermal growth factor-like growth factor (HB-EGF)**, with **pegylated liposomal doxorubicin (PLD)**, an anthracycline chemotherapeutic encapsulated in liposomes and coated with polyethylene glycol. KHK2866 neutralizes HB-EGF activity by preventing its receptor binding, showing tumor-selective distribution. Pegylated liposomal doxorubicin inhibits topoisomerase 2, disrupting DNA replication in cancer cells and is designed for prolonged circulation and targeted tumor delivery. This combination was investigated for advanced cancers, particularly ovarian, fallopian tube, and primary peritoneal cancers[1][3][5].
