KLH + peptides + dendritic cells is an investigational therapeutic cancer vaccine composed of autologous or donor-derived dendritic cells (DCs) that are ex vivo loaded (pulsed) with tumor-associated antigenic peptides and the carrier protein keyhole limpet hemocyanin (KLH). The combination is designed to induce a robust antigen-specific immune response by leveraging the potent antigen-presenting capacity of DCs. Peptides derived from tumor antigens are presented to T-cells to elicit cytotoxic responses against cancer cells, while co-loading with KLH serves as an immunogenic control and adjuvant, enhancing CD4+ T-cell priming and facilitating monitoring of immune responses. This approach has been studied in various cancers including melanoma, acute myeloid leukemia, and colorectal cancer[1][2][3][5]. The mechanism involves both cellular (T-cell mediated) and humoral (antibody-mediated) immunity.
