Drug intelligence / Profile preview
KS104 is a small-molecule modulator of the Klotho protein currently under development by Klotho Sciences. The Klotho protein is a pleiotropic protein that acts as a circulating hormone and a membrane-bound coreceptor, playing a critical role in regulating mineral metabolism, protecting against oxidative stress, and influencing aging processes. KS104 is being investigated for its potential to treat age-related degenerative conditions, specifically Macular Degeneration (MD) and Osteoarthritis (OA). The drug is currently in the IND-enabling phase of development, aiming to leverage the protective effects of Klotho signaling to mitigate tissue degeneration associated with aging.
