Overview

L-carnitine tartrate + synbiotic is a combination dietary supplement consisting of L-carnitine tartrate—a stable form of the amino acid derivative L-carnitine—and a multistrain/multispecies synbiotic (a blend of probiotics and prebiotics). L-carnitine plays a key role in energy metabolism by transporting long-chain fatty acids into mitochondria for beta-oxidation, thereby supporting cellular energy production. Synbiotics combine live beneficial bacteria (probiotics) with substrates that promote their growth (prebiotics), aiming to improve gut microbiota balance and metabolic health. Clinical studies suggest that co-supplementation with L-carnitine tartrate and a multistrain/multispecies synbiotic may have synergistic or complementary effects on reducing body weight, BMI, waist circumference, fasting blood sugar, insulin resistance indices (HOMA-IR), and improving HDL cholesterol in individuals with obesity or metabolic syndrome.
