Lacidipine + amlodipine is a combination of two dihydropyridine calcium channel blockers, both used primarily for the treatment of hypertension. Both drugs act by inhibiting L-type voltage-dependent calcium channels in vascular smooth muscle, leading to vasodilation and reduced blood pressure. Amlodipine also has antianginal effects and additional pleiotropic actions such as antioxidant activity and stimulation of nitric oxide production. Lacidipine is highly lipophilic with a slow onset of action, which may reduce reflex tachycardia and provide sustained antihypertensive effects. Both agents are well-tolerated and effective as once-daily oral therapies for mild-to-moderate hypertension[1][2][3][4][5][6].
