Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A mixed probiotic formulation composed of the live bacterial strains **Lactiplantibacillus plantarum CBT LP3** and **Bifidobacterium breve CBT BR3**, investigated primarily for anti-obesity effects through modulation of the gut microbiota and downstream metabolic and endocrine markers. Publicly described in a 2024 *Scientific Reports* study in overweight and obese dogs, oral supplementation over 12 weeks was associated with reductions in body weight, body condition score, serum triglycerides, total cholesterol, and leptin, with increased adiponectin and shifts in fecal microbial composition. The program appears to be associated with Cell Biotech-origin CBT strains and represents a live microbial therapeutic or nutraceutical-style probiotic combination rather than a conventional small-molecule pharmaceutical.
