Overview

Lactiplantibacillus plantarum LLY-606 + galacto-oligosaccharides is a synbiotic formulation composed of the probiotic strain Lactiplantibacillus plantarum LLY-606 and the prebiotic galacto-oligosaccharides (GOS). This synbiotic combination is designed to improve gut and metabolic health, notably by ameliorating obesity-related lipid metabolism disorders and hyperuricemia through modulation of the gut microbiota, increasing arginine production, and activating the AMPK signaling pathway. Lactiplantibacillus plantarum LLY-606 is a human gut-derived lactic acid bacterium with well-characterized probiotic properties, such as anti-inflammatory activity, cholesterol lowering, and robust adaptation to gastrointestinal conditions. GOS serves as a selective substrate to promote the growth and metabolic activity of beneficial gut bacteria, including the probiotic strain in this formula. In preclinical and human studies, the synbiotic reduces visceral fat, improves lipid metabolism, increases serum arginine (which mediates metabolic improvements via AMPK), and helps restore healthy gut microbial composition, with additional evidence of downregulation of pro-inflammatory signaling pathways.
