Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Lactobacillus casei + Lactobacillus rhamnosus Lcr35 is a combination of probiotic bacterial strains intended to support or restore a healthy microbiome. [10] The combination is used for both gastrointestinal and gynecological health. [2, 6] The Lcr35 strain, specifically Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus Lcr35, is a well-documented, patented probiotic developed by Biose Industrie. [2, 11] Its original name was Lactobacillus casei rhamnosus 35, which explains the potential naming confusion. [23] Probiotics like these function by competing with pathogenic microorganisms, adhering to epithelial cells to form a protective barrier, and producing antimicrobial substances like lactic acid, which helps maintain a healthy pH. [19] They also modulate the host's immune system. [8, 16] The Lcr35 strain has demonstrated an ability to inhibit pathogens such as *Candida albicans*, *Gardnerella vaginalis*, and pathogenic *Escherichia coli*. [2, 6] This combination is typically available in oral capsules for gut health or vaginal tablets for gynecological applications. [10, 17]
