Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Lactobacillus curvatus HY7601 + Lactobacillus plantarum KY1032 is a combination of two probiotic bacterial strains developed as a multi-strain probiotic supplement. This combination has been clinically studied for its effects on obesity and metabolic health. The mechanism of action involves modulation of the gut microbiota, leading to reduced body weight, visceral fat mass, waist circumference, and improved adiponectin levels in overweight individuals. The probiotics also increase beneficial gut bacteria such as Bifidobacteriaceae and Akkermansiaceae while decreasing potentially harmful families like Prevotellaceae and Selenomonadaceae[1][7]. Preclinical studies show that this combination reduces triglycerides by upregulating hepatic genes involved in lipid metabolism (ApoA-V, PPARα, FXR), inhibits adipogenesis, reduces cholesterol in plasma and liver, improves energy metabolism markers in the liver and adipose tissue, and suppresses diet-induced obesity[3][4][5][7]. These strains were originally isolated from Korean traditional fermented cabbage.
