Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This multi-strain probiotic combination, developed by GenMont Biotech, comprises *Lactobacillus reuteri* GMNL-89, *Lactobacillus plantarum* GMNL-141, and *Lactobacillus paracasei* GMNL-133. It is designed as a live biotherapeutic product (LBP) that modulates the host immune system and suppresses systemic inflammation. Preclinical studies in mouse models have demonstrated its potential in treating chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) by reducing the levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as IL-1β, IL-6, and TNF-α, and in inhibiting the progression of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) when used as an adjuvant therapy. The individual strains are also associated with improvements in allergic diseases, atopic dermatitis, and systemic lupus erythematosus through the regulation of T-cell populations and cytokine signaling.
